Silcap – Protective Cap for Dust-Free Connections
Silcap is a protective cap specifically designed to ensure safe and hygienic closure of butterfly valves in the Modula system and Steriflange mounting flanges. Developed for applications in pharmaceutical, food, and fine chemical industries, it plays a critical role in maintaining cleanliness and preventing cross-contamination during periods of system inactivity, inspection, or manual handling.
By securely sealing off product-contact surfaces—particularly the butterfly valve disc—Silcap prevents the accumulation of residual powders and the exposure of sterile areas to external contaminants. It is commonly used at dust-free connection points during the loading and unloading of bulk solids from containers such as BINs or FIBCs, as well as in transfer lines and pipelines.
Its robust design offers mechanical protection to the valve disc and flange surfaces, helping preserve the integrity of critical sealing zones. Easy to install and remove, Silcap supports hygienic best practices by ensuring clean interfaces are maintained before and after product transfer, contributing to safer and more reliable processing environments.
